Described as a science fiction mystery series, «The Hidden Island» stars Daniela Ramírez («Isabel») and Néstor Cantillana («A Thousand Days of Allende»), with Chilean screenwriter Julio Rojas («Case 63») serving as script advisor. Inspired by the true story of alien apparitions on Friendship Island, the six-episode series chronicles the investigation into the disappearance of a Mexican archaeology student, led by a detective returning to her homeland on the enigmatic Chiloé archipelago.

MGE and Río Estudios will have the presence as special guest of Julio Rojas, acclaimed screenwriter, writer and creative advisor known worldwide for ¨Case 63¨, in the panel titled “Running the Show in Latin America: How to Maintain Creativity in a Risk-Averse Climate”, which will take place next Tuesday, as part of Content Americas 2025. Julio Rojas is currently serving as Script Advisor on the new fiction series distributed by MGE and produced by Rio Estudios, ¨Hidden Island¨ inspired by the legend of Friendship Island.

An unprecedented production directed by Pablo Mantilla, a filmmaker and fervent admirer of the renowned Chilean writer, who embarks on a journey to unravel his life, legacy, and work through the stories of international figures who inspired some of his creations, and following a narrative structure that imitates his novel «The Savage Detectives,» listed by the New York Times as one of the 100 best books of the 21st century.

MGE, a distributor and developer of audiovisual content, arrived at Mipcom 2024 as part of the WAWA Pavilion to showcase the latest additions to its catalog, which includes everything from innovative entertainment formats and reality shows to successful productions in the genres of soap operas, series, films, and documentaries.

Renowned actress Itziar Ituño, famous for her roles in internationally acclaimed series, will be present at the Iberseries Platino Industria event in Madrid on October 3rd to present her new series in development, «Uzal.» The series is created and directed by Marcos Moreno, produced by Motor Films and Tharsis Films, and distributed internationally by MGE.

Mega Global Entertainment (MGE), the Miami-based independent distributor led by Esperanza Garay, continues to expand its slate of entertainment formats, now with the inclusion of the reality show «Palabra de honor,» from Peru’s Latina TV. The agreement between the two companies, revealed this week, expands their existing international distribution alliance, which already included the cooking reality show «El gran chef» (The Great Chef), and the competition and cohabitation reality shows «Tierra Brava» (Brava Land) and «Ganar o Servir» (Win or Serve).

Following several recent sales agreements in the CEE region, Inter Medya has announced that it has licensed the drama series “Love and Pride” to Romania. Set to premiere soon for Romanian audiences, the series is the first project under the co-production agreement between Inter Medya and Mega Global Entertainment (MGE).
